Tree Pruning

Pruning a tree can have many benefits The first and most important is keeping the people around it safe. A dead branch can fall from a tree at any time, endangering nearby people, buildings, and power lines.

Tree pruning encourages new healthy growth, disease prevention, and the overall shape and structure the tree.

Types of tree pruning

  • Deadwood Removal- reduces risk of dead branches falling, ensuring the safety of your family and neighbours.

  • Crown Thinning- pruning smaller secondary branches to increase air circulation and sunlight into a property.

  • Crown Lifting- clears low hanging branches to provide clearance for vehicles, walkways or underplanting.

  • Formative Pruning- used for young trees with the goal of creating a well-shaped, strong and safe tree.

  • Selective Pruning- removing specific branches that are causing problems over buildings, power lines or walkways.

  • Restorative Pruning- undertaken on mature, declining trees were the removal of damaged or diseased branches are pruned back to healthy, undamaged timber
